Silver Linings Haiku
October 2012
Michael Gollin
Terrible news, but
I’m mining silver linings.
Play the cards you’re dealt!
I’ve been dealt good hands.
This is a bad one, for sure.
Who wins? Who loses?
Reach up to the clouds
for silver linings, then mine
them deep in the dirt.
I am silver-rich,
gaining each day’s precious gift,
hoarding happiness.
Give to get, they say.
But what if your gift is grief?
Loved ones give back love.
